Adventure in Ankara
Volunteering in Ankara has been an amazing experience. Every month brings new adventures and new people to meet. This month was full of beautiful moments, learning, and great food. One of the best experiences was visiting my friend's house for a real Turkish breakfast. I met this friend at a speaking club during my project, and we became close. The breakfast was so delicious. There were olives, cheese, honey, eggs, and of course, fresh simit. The tea was warm and perfect. We sat together, ate slowly, and talked about everything. It felt like home
After breakfast, we went to a place where people play old Turkish games. It was something very special for me because I had never had the chance to play these games before. My friends taught me how to play dama. At first, I did not understand the rules well, but they were patient and explained everything. Step by step, I got better. It was fun and exciting to learn a traditional game that Turkish people have played for so many years. The place was full of energy, with people of all ages playing games and having a great time
This
month, I also learned something completely different. I had the chance to spend
time at Gençlik Radio. There, I learned how to record a podcast, edit, and do
montage. It was my first time working with sounds, and I discovered many
interesting things. The team was kind and shared useful tips with me. Now, I
feel more confident in using editing programs and recording my voice.
This
month in Ankara was really special. I met wonderful people, ate delicious food,
played new games, and learned skills I never thought I would. Every day in this
city gives me something new, and I am excited for what comes next
