HELLO FROM ANKARA!

Hey, I am Fabiana and I want to tell you about my unforgettable experience in Ankara that I will never forget. It's started with late flight, delay, I didn't sleep for 1 day, I was exausting, I wanted to sleep so much, to be in Istanbul and then to go with the bus until Ankara. But it wasn't so easy for me because I don't know Turkish and all I did it was to translate a lot of sentences with Google translate.

I thought that it will be so complicated to get to Ankara and I will get lost and because of it I was calm and I was expecting something much worse. It was a little bit difficult for me to handle my luggages because they were more heavier than me.

BENİM ANKARAM

Ankara, benim Ankara, this is how I feel about Ankara since the first day I landed here. Benim Ankara means my Ankara, it felt like I am part of this city, I mean when I mention Türkiye to my friends, the first thing they think about is Istanbul, İzmir or Antalya, but Ankara won’t be one of the list, although it’s the capital, shocking right? But it feels nice, much friendlier than Istanbul. Taxis here are way better than there, it’s funny why would I mention Taxis, but for real? Istanbul Taxis are crazy and that is the most polite way to describe them, yet here are more respectful, and they don’t take advantage of you being a foreigner and the idea behind it that you have “Euro/dollars” believe me when you come to Türkiye you will see the difference.

HELLOOO

Hi! My name is Bálint Horváth. I am currently in Turkey, in Ankara where I am doing a 2-month short-term volunteering project. My sending organization is Compass Organisation from Hungary, Kaposvár, and my hosting organization is Ander Association. I have been here for a months and so far my days are going very well. We went to pack and distribute food to refuges, and we also visited our office a couple of times, where, for example, we got to know more about Erasmus and ESC and we also took part in Turkish language courses. There was a holiday period in Turkey called Bayram, so we were free from 7 July until 14 July. We are not a huge team but volunteers from different countries.

MY INTERNATIONAL FIRST EXPERIENCE :)

One of the best months I’ve had. Firstly, Meeting international people from different parts of the world is a new life-giver opportunity. It is like you are breathing again with fresh air. I have a very close friend now from Moldova. Also, from Romania three other friends. They are older than me, they give me many pieces of advice. I couldn’t be more grateful for such an opportunity is given to me by such people. Secondly, Ankara is the city where we are staying and there are many things to visit and see. Historical, educational, entertaining, and interesting places. We went to (ِِ Anitkabir) that’s a very important place for Turkish people and I respect this so much to see how they take care so well about their history.
